Dementia and Normal Aging

Session objectives are:

  • Basics of Dementia
  • Changes in Thinking and Cognition in Normal Aging
  • Communication strategies

The seminar educates participants in the difference between normal aging and dementia and how to differentiate between the two and the role of medical conditions. Participants learn the important elements of thought -memory, reasoning, language, judgement, perception, abstraction, organization and attention. Simple, useful guidelines in communicating with dementia patients are also discussed.

Brain Health

The brain is our most complex organ and also the most important. Keeping it healthy as you age is critical. Participants learn how to keep their brain sharp by practicing the principles of good overall health.
