Program
Dr. Janilla Lee, Executive Director of Asian Center – Southeast Michigan (AC-SE MI) was requested by Michigan Department of Health and Human Services to represent the State of Michigan to participate in a National Task Force, organized by CDC (Center for Disease Control and Prevention), to work on an Adult Immunization Improvement program. Michigan is in Region 5, which includes 6 states: Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio and Wisconsin; and was given the task to improve adult immunization. Dr. Lee had the responsibility to facilitate the State of Michigan to develop an action plan during a conference in June.
Dr. Lee did an “Adult Immunization Survey” to understand and assess how the State was in reaching adult immunization so she could develop an improvement plan. A survey form was generated and data was collected before the conference to help understand the community needs. The survey along with the State available adult immunization data were collected to use as the baseline for MI before the conference.
Dr. Lee, along with a group of immunization experts from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, attended a regional conference in Chicago on 6/11/2018. The objective was to help facilitate the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services to develop action plans to improve adult immunization for the State of Michigan. After the conference, an improvement plan based on the survey data was generated to help Michigan improve its adult immunization. The plan was given to MDHHS. Please review the survey results and the proposed improvement plan for the State of Michigan in our reports section.
